BASECAMP is an inclusive, multi-pace gravel gathering and campout where everyone is welcome. It is two days of guided group rides. No-drop groups will ride at different paces so every rider will fit in somewhere. We want everyone to find their pack, meet new people and explore what we believe is some of B.C.’s best gravel.
Giant, Liv and Cadex will be attending the event and supporting its inclusivity initiatives with the "Gift of Gravel" invitees. Come join us around the firepit post-ride to talk about the awesome sights you saw on your ride.
Days will range from 70-80km with around 1300-1500m of elevation gain. This is classic gravel, not technical single track on drop-bar bikes. It will still be a challenge, but we promise the views will more than make up for the climbs. Each day we will have a re-fuel spot around the halfway mark, with water and some snacks if you need to fuel up. We will have a shorter distance ride option for those new to gravel, stay tuned for details.
There is camping available at the venue. This unique option is part of the reason why this venue was so perfect for the event. See the camping info page for more details.
We’re bringing the party to the Okanagans Summerland, B.C. at the Rodeo Grounds. This venue is directly beside the famous Kettle Valley Railway, giving us immediate access to the gravel goodness. There will be only around 3km of tarmac all weekend! There’s also a swim spot about a 5-10 minute pedal away.
Groups will be led by our gravel guides at a no-drop pace, so you don't have to worry about getting lost or being left behind. We will have GPS files uploaded to the website closer to the event. We've been working hard on planning both days, so we'd like to keep them a surprise for now. We tried to pick routes that would be fun for all and full of great views. Stay tuned for more route and ride details.
Save some legs for the after ride gravel gathering. When everyone is back at the Rodeo Grounds, the party starts!
